Visiting Summer Students
Do you go to another University or College? This information is for you!

Summer visitors who already have a degree and are not enrolled in a degree program must print the "post-bac" (Non-Degree) application and mail it in as instructed on the application.

Summer visitors who do not already have a degree and are not enrolled in degree programs at UNC Charlotte MUST complete an Online Application.
The application fee is $50.00 and can be paid online in the form of a credit card or debit card.

NOTE: that this application is the same application that ALL students coming to UNC Charlotte fill out, if you are just visiting for the summer you do not need to fill out information about high school, or send high school transcripts, only fill out the information that is relevant for you. See below for more important information about transcripts.

NOTE: Visiting student application deadline is up to 3 days (please see details below) before classes start, however we recommend you apply at least 2 weeks prior to classes starting.

Remember!! Many summer courses will fill up. Please be sure to fill out the application early, for Admissions will take about 2 weeks to process your application, once your application is processed they will send you a letter with your username and ID number and instructions on how to register for your classes.

Visiting Summer Students Do Not need to send a transcript with their application. Prior to registering for your classes you MUST contact the department in which your classes belong to see if they have any restrictions or prerequisites for them. Some departments will require that you send a transcript directly to them in order to allow you into a class. To get contact information for departments please call the University Switchboard at 704-687-2000. Do not send transcripts to Admissions.

If your class starts within 3 days...
Summer visitors who decide to enroll in a class that starts within the next 3 days should apply and pay the $50.00 application fee in-person to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (post-baccalaureate students should apply to the Office of Graduate Admissions).   Once you've been admitted , the  Admissions  Office will assign you a PIN (Personal Identification Number).  You must have your PIN to register for courses.

Students taking courses to transfer to another institution should be sure to follow the procedures of your "home" institution to confirm the applicability of specific UNC Charlotte summer session courses to your academic program. Visiting students should also arrange to have a transcript of their UNC Charlotte course work sent to their home institution upon the completion of their Summer Session classes.
