some of your required courses in Psychology.
Need
to take Research Methods in the fall? We're offering
sections of the prerequisite PSYC 1101 Lab in the summer
session. In addition, we are offering THREE senior
seminar courses, History & Systems of Psychology, and courses
in both the "scientific" and "practice" areas
of psychology. Need electives? We are also offering two
perennial favorite topics courses, "Sexual Behavior" and "Forensic
Psychology." Get a jump on your graduation requirements,

Sexual
Behavior
McAnulty
Summer Session II
The topics covered in this course involve issues and
controversies relating to human sexual behavior. The
goal is to offer an overview of empirical findings on
such topics as prostitution, adolescent sexual behavior,
sexual dysfunction, and atypical sexual practices.
Coverage
will extend to the leading theories of sexual behavior,
including evolutionary psychology and social constructionism.
The historical and cultural contexts of current practices
will also be addressed.

Summer Session I
This
course covers applications of psychological research
to the legal system.
Topics
include police work and profiling, serial killers,
lie detection, confessions, eyewitness testimony, the
insanity plea, jury decision making, and conviction
of the innocent.
Cultural Psychology

Summer Session II
This course will focus on the ways in which cultural
practices and
traditions influence conceptualizations of psychological
health and psychological disorders. Culture-bound
syndromes and universal psychological constructs will be
explored. Case studies and examples from around the
world will be used to highlight commonalities/
variations across cultural groups.
