The
Department of Languages and Culture Studies offers
a variety of courses in French, German, Japanese and
Spanish this summer. Summer classes meet every day and
give you a near “immersion” experience in
the language. In addition to language classes, the Department
offers literature and culture classes in Spanish and
a full Internet course on “The Greeks.”

Having trouble finding
a writing intensive course in your Spanish, French, or
German major? This course will count even though the
topic is Russian literature. Since writing intensive
courses are all in English, any W course offered by the
Department of Languages and Culture Studies satisfies
your general education requirement for a writing
intensive course in the major! Enjoy reading some of the
greatest literature ever written and fulfill a
requirement at the same time.

Need extra practice in Spanish conversation, reading and
writing before starting the major next Fall? Already a
major but having trouble with those oral presentations,
complex reading assignments, and papers to write in
Spanish? These skill development courses may be for you.
You can take one or both, in any order, at any time in
the major or minor or even if you’re not a major but
just want more practice. The only prerequisite is SPAN
1202. Come have fun AND improve your Spanish.
