ITCS 6162 Knowledge Discovery in Databases
Dardzinska
Summer Session II
Knowledge
discovery is a concept that describes the process of
automatically searching large volumes of data for patterns that
can be considered knowledge about the data. In knowledge
discovery from databases (KDD), machine learning techniques are
adapted to large scale databases for a discovering task. The
class will cover many discovery methods, which are at the core
of the generic architecture for discovery systems. Students will
learn how to compute and evaluate groupings, patterns, and
relationships in the context of a problem solving task.
