Our Partners

Camps on Campus at UNC Charlotte is proud to announce partnerships with several organizations which promote education and provide information about careers in science and technology, health and many other areas.

Charlotte Area Health Education Center (AHEC)

is a community-based program working with academic partners and healthcare agencies for health promotion and disease prevention. Charlotte AHEC coordinates and produces continuing education programming and technical assistance for all health care providers within the AHEC region, and provides the administrative structure for clinical training of students and residents in the health care sciences. Together with Charlotte AHEC and with the School of Nursing and the Department of Kinesiology in UNC Charlotte's College of Health and Human Services, we present MED Camp for rising grades 8 & 9 and for rising grades 6 & 7, as well as Aspire! Health for rising grades 10 - 12.. These camps are designed to introduce middle-and high-school students to the scientific background essential for medical and health-related careers, while giving them hands-on experience in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Emergency Care.

The National Science Foundation (NSF)

is an independent agency of the U.S. Government whose mission is to promote the progress of science, to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare, and to secure the national defense. NSF supports educational, scientific and engineering research and programs at all levels, and encourages activities designed to increase the participation of women and minorities and others under-represented in science and technology.

Our Departments of Dance and Theater

allow Camps on Campus to use their theaters, studios and workshops, and help with scenery, props, lights and sound and behind-the scenes staff for our Acting & Stagecraft, Dance and Musical Theater programs.  They very generously welcome us and all our guests at the Friday shows. We're grateful for all their help.  Now that you've found your way to the theater, please check out this year's performance schedule here:

The Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County

The Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg is our partner in encouraging children and young people to visit their local libraries, to become library members, to join a reading club, to write book reviews and to win prizes for finishing books this summer.

The National Writing Project

Our writing camps are taught by graduates of the UNC Charlotte Writing Project. As part of the National Writing Project since 1979, the UNC Charlotte Writing Project has provided a place for teachers to come together to share experiences of teaching writing, and to learn how to better teach writing.

We also rely on many other UNC Charlotte departments, faculty and staff who let us use their classrooms, labs, expertise and equipment; the Housing staff who make sure our overnight campers have somewhere comfortable and safe  to stay; Dining Services who add peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and other "kid-friendly" items to the usual menu during the summer - as well as a designated area to eat them; Student Health Services which looks after our "owies"; the Police and Atkins Library and Facilities and Housekeeping and Parking and all the others who look out for us during camp time.

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!
